Dr. Nadia Kovalevskaya PhD

Ayurvedic Nutrition, Yoga & Massage

Nadia is the Ayurvedic practitioner, Massage and Yoga therapist at St Ives Wellness Centre and 1000 Miles Therapy . She is helping people move out of imbalance and find their way back to balance to enjoy their life in full.

Whether one is living with a chronic or undiagnosed condition, great relief can be achieved by changing diet and lifestyle and taking medicinal herbs. There is a myriad of modern diets which work for some people and don’t work for others, or are only effective temporarily and stop working after a period of time. This can be very frustrating. The Ayurvedic approach, combined with Nadia's experience in biochemical research, allows one to avoid this frustration.

Homeopathy

Tanja is e very experienced homeopath, having worked for many years in her profession.

Homeopathy is a natural form of medicine used by over 200 million people worldwide to treat both acute and chronic conditions. It is based on the principle of ‘like cures like’. In other words, a substance taken in small amounts will cure the same symptoms it causes if taken in large amounts.

The holistic nature of homeopathy means each client is treated as a unique individual and their body, mind, spirit and emotions are all considered in the management and prevention of disease. Taking all these factors into account Tanya will select the most appropriate medicine based on your specific symptoms and personal level of health to stimulate your own healing ability.

Reflexology is a complementary therapy based on the theory that we have reflex points on the feet (hands and ears) that link to every part of the body. During times of stress, illness, or simply through our busy, modern lifestyles we can feel out of balance. By stimulating and re-balancing these reflex points, using pressure and gentle massage techniques, we can promote and restore balance, well-being, and relaxation. The result of reflexology can be very powerful and beneficial to our overall health and well-being. Reflexology is a gentle, deeply relaxing holistic treatment.

Holisitic Chiropractic Care

Here at St Ives Wellness Centre my aim is return you to balance. I understand that daily life can place significant stresses and strains on your body and result in pain. I want to help you combat life's daily stresses and significantly improve your day to day wellbeing.

The chiropractic approach at this clinic is to assess every individuals needs and treat your whole mechanical system, with advice on nutrition and hydration to help restore normal balance to the body.

Often we forget to take care of our bodies, be it physically, emotionally or nutritionally, As these important elements become imbalanced, our bodies can become weakened and susceptible to injury or disease.

By becoming aware of these imbalances and correcting them throughout the body (as a whole) and not component parts of the full system, you can start to return your body back to balance and health.

I believe that a body in balance should be free from pain and disease. This will mean a commitment from you to want to improve your health and return your body to balance.

After your initial consultation Seona will offer you a tailor made treatment plan to achieve your goals, be it pain relief or enhanced performance.

Ayurvedic Treatment

Nadia offers a concise nutrition plan and herbal supplements that are specific to the person’s current condition and situation. She takes into account different factors that contribute to the person’s condition and offers lifestyle changes and techniques that will improve their emotional and mental wellbeing. In addition to proper nutrition and herbs, getting back to balance can be beneficially supported by Ayurvedic massage and Yoga therapy, two other services that Nadia offers.

Ayurveda is an old Indian holistic medical system that has been practised for several thousand years. It takes into account the whole person, with their individual traits and circumstances, rather than reducing diseases to the physical body parts out of context. This offers a truly personalised approach to patients. All Nadia's protocols focus on root causes and long-term solutions rather than on quick fixes.

Homeopathic Treatment

Homeopathic medicines are safe to use as they rarely cause side-effects. This means when used appropriately under the guidance of a qualified homeopath they can be taken by people of all ages, including babies, children and pregnant or breastfeeding women.

What does homeopathic treatment involve?

Homeopathic doctors work in the same way as any other conventional doctors. History taking, examination and investigation are all important in establishing the diagnosis. However, as well as asking about your symptoms, a homeopathic doctor will be interested in you as an individual and the unique way in which your symptoms affect you.

The homeopathic consultation

Tanya will ask you questions about your lifestyle, eating habits and preferences, temperament, personality, sleep patterns and medical history to help her to form a complete picture of you. This picture will be matched to the symptoms of your illness in order to prescribe a particular type and strength of homeopathic medicine.

As a guide your first appointment could take anything up to an hour, with follow-up appointments typically lasting 30 minutes. However this may vary.
